Welcome to the Canadian Association of Professional Pet Dog Trainers, otherwise known as the CAPPDT! Canada’s ONLY national professional association for those who love training dogs. We are a professional association for dog trainers. Some of us enjoy teaching others to train their dogs. Some of us are avid trainers of our own pets and others are up and coming trainers. No matter what your occupation, if you love dogs and want to learn more about training you’ve come the right place!
International Positive Dog Training AsscociationOur goal is to set the international standard for the humane application of dog training and behaviour modification tools and techniques, and to create better trainers through education by teaching, learning and sharing humane techniques and through a continuous search for and exploration of new methods.
Canine Communications StudiesCanine Communication Studies is a Professional Pet Dog Training/Behavior Therapy Career Course written by Norma Jeanne Laurette. This course has been taught to students, many who have earned professional CCS certification across North America since 1994. Many graduates of this program are now running successful professional dog training and related businesses as a direct result.
Ontario Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals: Barrie BranchThe Ontario SPCA Barrie Branch was established in 1968 to provide a safe haven for animals in need of protection and care. Since then, the City of Barrie's population has grown at a record rate - including its animal population - initiating the shelter's expansion in the 1980's.
