Puppy Programs
Puppy Primer Seminar (In-home private session)
Get off to a “pawsitive” start with your new pup with this in-home introduction to puppy learning and training.
This seminar gives you valuable information you need to survive your dog's puppy hood. Learn the ten critical things every puppy must know to grow into a well-adjusted and well-behaved dog, and how to teach them. Topics include: house training, biting, chewing, proper toys and games, socialization, and how to initiate learned manners and social behaviors that will secure his/her permanent spot in your heart and home. This seminar will teach you what to expect in the coming months, and will leave you confident and prepared to handle many situations.
This is the best learning option for a family with children, because we can focus on a family team building approach to training. The concept of everybody participating in the training and everyone being on the same page, having the same knowledge greatly accelerates the puppies' learning curve. You won't soon forget what you have learned at this seminar, because we leave you with your own copy of the Ultimate Puppy Toolkit with which you can refer to again and again.
Time: 2˝ hours
Cost: $125.00, includes Ultimate Puppy Toolkit ($30 value)
Method of Payment: Cash paid on the date and time of seminar, sorry we currently do not accept cheques or charge cards.

Puppy Classes Level I (Private lessons in your home)
Private lessons in your home provide you with personalized instruction in obedience training. If your schedule, your training goals, or your dog's situation prevent participation in group obedience classes, private lessons may be right for you.
Most group puppy classes will not take puppies until they are ten weeks of age and have had two sets of vaccinations, thus losing two to three weeks of your puppies' most precious developmental time. The advantage of our personal one on one training program is that we can start as soon as you take the puppy home (usually as early as week seven or eight when purchased through a breeder), and get a major head start on your puppies training in your home. Your puppy will experience less stress in his/her own environment as opposed to a group environment in a strange setting. Take this opportunity to mould and shape your pet's personality and instill good social manners right from the onset. We at The Puppy Professor fast track your pet to be an obedient companion utilizing a gentle, proven, do no harm, positive reinforcement, training methodology. Choke chains and inducing fear through punishment, are methods we don't endorse or advocate. We believe in re-directing the dog's unwanted negative behavior, while effecting change through behaviour modification techniques. Stress is neither good for your dog, or you, so we encourage fun and play in our curriculum to encourage that special bond every dog owner craves. Our classes are flexible as to scheduling and we can accommodate different nights from week to week including weekends. Class notes will be provided every week for six weeks.
Time: 1 hour class each week.
Course length: 6 weeks.
Cost: $165.00 (Barrie, Stroud, Shanty Bay, and Innisfil - additional fee may apply to other locations, please ask).

Adolescent/Adult Dog Programs
Dog Manners and Obedience (Private lessons in your home)
This course is designed for dogs six months and older. The course benefits dogs who have had little or no training, and older dogs who have regressed and developed some bad habits in which case, this course serves as a perfect refresher to get them back on track.
Eliminate over excited behavior, jumping up, pulling on the leash while walking, excessive barking, won't come when called and other annoying habits your dog is demonstrating.
Private lessons in your home provide you with personalized instruction, not instruction at the pace of the slowest dog in a large group obedience class. We will personalize this course to you and your dog's situation, so we don't waste your time and money.

Behaviour Consultation (Private one on one consult in your home)
Does you dog exhibit some of these behaviors?:
- House soiling
- Destruction
- Shyness
- Fear and phobias
- Resource guarding
- Aggression
- Separation anxiety
and the list goes on and on...
Sometimes our beloved dogs behave in problematic ways that lead to frustration and concern about our canine friend. Behavior is caused by the combination of a dog's genetic profile (breed and individual characteristics) and all of his or her learning from past experiences. Some behaviour problems require a diligent commitment to an ongoing program of behaviour modification and management, while other behaviour problems can be more easily addressed through some routine management and training.
A behaviour consultation helps to identify why your dog is acting inappropriately, and the prognosis for change. We can start you on a treatment/training program tailored to your specific situation. We specialize in behaviour cases which require an individualized approach, not group behaviour classes. Contact us if you feel you and your dog will benefit from an in-depth, individualized behaviour consultation that will help identify ways to effectively change your dog’s behaviour. Our behavioural consultation includes a comprehensive written action plan, along with reading materials and phone support follow up.
Time: 3 hours total - 2 hours intial consultation followed by a 1 hour followup session 1 week later to deliver and explain your comprehesive written action plan.
Cost: $150 (Barrie, Stroud, Shanty Bay, Innisfil - additional fee may apply to other locations, please ask).
Method of Payment: Cash paid in full on the date and time of your consultation, sorry we currently do not accept cheques or charge cards.
